The Chernobyl Exclusion Zone

The Chernobyl Exclusion Zone

I just returned from Ukraine. The strangest trip I have ever done, by far. The reason I went is because of a school project. We have time to do whatever we want, so me and two friends are going to make a book about Chernobyl. So now I have been inside the exclusion zone. After the disaster in 1986 everybody within 30 km of the power plant was evacuated and now an entire city is empty. It’s a ghost town. Nobody ever returned and no sounds could be heard from the 17 story buildings. Furniture and toys are still there but nobody is using them.

It’s a strange feeling walking in a city without being watched by anyone and having no one to watch.
